Today was a glorious day in the eyes on the young woman. She’d gotten off of work and had a little extra money to spare. Since the time she woke up until now, she’d gotten to go do all of her favorite things. First, she had made her way to the book store where she picked up a hard cover copy of a fantasy book on mermaids that she had been dying to read. It was the third one in a series of four, and she gotten gotten through the first two books in a month. Secondly, she made her way to the park where she sat in the shade under a tree to read and relax for a few hours. After that she wandered her way to a clothing store and bought herself a new dress with a sunflower pattern on it. It tied in the back, and she wasn’t able to pass it up due to the fact that it was seventy-five percent off. Next came matching yellow flats from the shoe store across the street. Now, with two shopping bags in hand and her purse on her shoulder, she was making her way to a little coffee shop she had heard some woman who came into her work place talking about last week.
The streets were crowded today, but Nami polietly made her way through the streams of people and into the front door. It was a nice looking place with it’s coozey rugs and wooden walls. She hadn’t thought such places existed in such a big city. She smiled as she gazed up at the menu. It was huge and had any type of caffine drink her heart could desire. She ordered a large cold mocha based drink and looked around after receiving it. Spotting a table near the back, she made her way in that direction. Nami set her bags down on the floor next to her and, began to drink through her straw. It was like heaven in her mouth.

A shop such as this felt like a novelty, straight out of his very fantasies of what a coffee shop should look like. There wasn't that ever so commercialized feeling that was in every Starlybucks store. No, here it was nice, here it was cozy, and perhaps today wouldn't be the only day he would dare to venture into unfamiliar territory after all. But there were more pressing matters than a simple cup of coffee. Which added to the irony that he had, in fact, already ordered a cup of coffee and proceeded to walk further into the shop.
He'd had a feeling that the two men who had been just about everywhere he'd been to so far were tailing him. They looked like civilians to say the least, no telling tales of uniform, but there was the fact that they were just about following his every move. Why? He had a few guesses but none seemed any more solid than the next.
Hot coffee, and about ten packs of sugar, in hand, he made his way right to the back to the store, trying to act as normal as he could while the paranoia of being followed lurked around his thoughts. He settled down onto Nami's tables, dropping his coffee and sugar on the table. "Hey, can you help me out a little bit?" He said, whispering. For a moment, he felt like a hobo asking for money. Which was just ludicrous really. "There's two guys behind, the one in the striped red shirt and the one with a collared white shirt." He continued, tearing open the sugar packets and dumping them into his coffee. "Are they looking at me weird or anything like that?" words -- 285 tags -- nami notes -- we can just play around with this |D | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 100px; border-top: 10px solid;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 200px;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 100px; border-top: 10px solid;] |

The young woman looked up, suddenly pushed out of her own boring, monotonous thoughts. A man was before her, dropping his order onto her table and suddenly speaking to her as though it was a normal thing to just speak to a random stranger who was minding her own business. Her cheeks flushed pink, and she couldn’t summon any words to answer to his question. It was even more nerve racking when he kept talking. As he spoke of the guys behind him, Nami slightly turned her head to look around the stranger. Stripped red shirt. White collar. She spotted them right off the bat. Why did he care? She turned her head just for a moment to watch him prepare his coffee and then looked back again. As a matter of fact, they were looking at him. However, they were doing it in such a way that made her nervous, out of the corner of their eyes or something. She looked back at her table, starring at her coffee, not making eye contact with the male before her. Nami cleared her throat.
“U-uh, yeah… Sort of... Are you in some kind of trouble?”
She slightly turned her head one more time. They seemed to be minding their business just for the moment. Or, at least she assumed they were. Turing her attention back back, she slowly trailed her eyes back up to the man’s face. Was he some sort of criminal? Or perhaps just a man that was down on his luck? Maybe those were some thugs trying to beat him up. She couldn’t really put a finger on it.

It felt almost fitting to say 'Everyday of my life.' but then he reminded himself that he actually needed her help. Making her think that he was odd in anyway certainly wasn't going to help aid him on getting her on his side. Added to the fact that he wasn't so sure himself, and with past experience, where he had in fact freaked out when someone had jumped from a tree and he immediately accused them of stalking, which earned him a slap to the face and several horrendous nickname. Well, he had learned that being overly cautious could still be a downfall.
He focused on his coffee again as she took another peak at them. "Well I didn't do anything wrong, but they've been following me for the day." He mumbled into his cup, haunched over on the table in an undignified manner. "You see I'm sort of-" Should he even say it? "A morph." It still didn't feel right to just reveal his species, but the better she understood the situation, the more he could ask for her help. Unless of course she actually hated morphs, then he was screwed from square one. "And well, I'm banking on the fact that they don't really want civilians involved when it comes to hunting us.... Would you mind if I stayed with you for a bit? Until I can throw em off my tail." At this point he was pleading with his eyes. words -- 243 tags -- nami notes -- ;w; | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 100px; border-top: 10px solid;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 200px;] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 100px; border-top: 10px solid;] |

What kind of thing could a person have done to wind up in a situation where they were being followed for the whole day? Nami pondered, but all she could come up with were terrible situations. Then it came to her just as he said it.
“A MORPH?!” She repeated loudly and then covered her mouth. “I-I’m so sorry.”
She really didn’t mean to speak up like that, and she really hoped the men following her didn’t hear her. That was, unlikely though. He wanted to stay with her for a bit. Having a morph tag a long with her for the day would make her mother so incredibly mad. She was about to say no, but she couldn’t help but give into his pleading eyes. She was so easy to persuade, it was a huge downfall. It was probably because of the fact that she just wanted to help everyone she possibly could. However, this was such a serious situation and if her mother found out… Oh gosh would she have some serious problems to deal with later on. It was no time for thinking of herself though. This guy seemed genuine enough. Nami took a deep breath to swallow the shyness that was in her.
“Well… I guess. What do you want me to do? Just drag you along with me for the day?”
She couldn’t believe she was saying this.

...
So maybe he shouldn't have said it at all. He uttered a quick ssshh, hands doing little flailing movement for her to calm down as she exclaimed. Figured that not everyone in the city was all too keen about morphs just yet, but at least that meant whoever it was that was following him around had to be cautious as well. Or at least at this point cautious about placing a civilian, namely Nami, in harms way. Not that he would harm the girl, he decided, as she seemed to go in thought to his proposal.
Her answer intrigued him, there weren't many who would just up and agree to what he had said. After all, even he had to admit that what he had said was vague, and strange for that matter. He accepted it nonetheless, no other option but to trust this girl with keeping him mildly safe from the men's grabbing hands.
"Yeah, just do what you'd normally do. When I see the chance to lose them, I'll take it as soon as I can." He said in all seriousness, another sip from coffee. And I'll try not to put you in danger. He added to himself in afterthought. Arceus forbid he managed to put her into some sort of danger. Elijah could almost slap himself for thinking that. Fucking damn it he was going soft. Gone were the days that he didn't care about anyone but himself, and he wasn't all too sure if this was a good or bad thing.
But looking at Nami, perhaps it wasn't so bad. Who knew there were still people who would help out a complete stranger, no?
He smiled at that, looking up to her again. "Thanks for doing this." He said, flashing a smile before going back to his coffee. Taking in a deep breath, Nami shook off the feelings of failure that came from her screw up of saying such a thing out loud. Although she still wasn’t too sure on how good of an idea this was, she just felt a little bit of a drive to help him. It was like she had to, no matter the consequences, because she didn’t think anyone deserved a life on the run. Besides, not every morph could be as bad as her mother made them out to be. Nami, why are you doing this to yourself. She let out a sigh, calming herself down, and putting on her business face, so to speak. She gave him a nod of understanding about the plan.
“Of course,” she responds to his thank you. Although that wasn’t quite the right answer, it was all she could manage.
Now came the question of what to do next. She hadn’t really had any further plans for her day, but now she almost felt it was necessary to make some. After all, she wasn’t going to bring a morph home with her, not just for the fact that it would be incredibly awkward, but for the fact that her mother would completely flip out. So home was out. She didn’t really have much spare money to do anything else around town either. This was an incredibly hard decision for her to make.
“Well, I guess….” She paused to think for a moment. “I was planning on taking a stroll through the park after my coffee.”
Looking up at him, she waited for any sort of a reaction about this. Sure, it was him who was tagging along with her plans, but that didn’t mean she didn’t want to bore the crap out of someone.
