Small pink bows. Satin material. Strapless. Flawless pattern. Mina’s deep pink eyes couldn’t possibly get any wider as she pressed her face against the window of an out-lit store on the corner of a street in Manhattan. It was one of her days out where she decided window shopping was the best activity she could go for. Of course, she was flat broke. The government only gave enough to live on, and she was no prized fight winner so anything extra was out of the question. She hated it. If only she had more skill… Then she’d be able to afford such a lovely dress. Mina let out a sigh and pulled her face away from the window in disappointment. She was never going to be lucky enough to have nice things. She’d never won a fight in her life, and that wasn’t going to change now. Of course, she had no real proof that they won any good stuff or money, she simply assumed. Most of the stronger fighters didn’t associate themselves with her.
With every footstep in her small pink flats, Mina felt more and more disappointed. She needed to find a way to put the idea of that dress out of her mind. Perhaps some food would help? She was starving, and she had enough money for at least a little something. Walking a couple blocks down, Mina spotted a fast food joint in which she ordered a cheeseburger and some fries at. Taking her meal, she walked outside to their small designated sitting area and took a seat. All in all, it was a nice day out so she didn’t really have much to complain about. At least she was away from the arena. That was the greatest gift she could be given.
Her small fingers unwrapped the paper that covered her juicy cheeseburger. She immediately picked it up and started to take little bites off of it. Although she was dying to just shove the whole thing into her mouth in one gulp, she was afraid of people watching. She had too much dignity for that. It had been a while since she was able to obtain such a gift. She put it down only to put a napkin in her lap, afraid to stain her dress with any possible ketchup accidents, before picking it back up to continue her meal.
